My favorite part of Christmas isn’t the twinkle lights, peppermint mochas in the Starbucks red cups, or even hearing Mariah Carey’s “All I want for Christmas is You” 1,500 times.
Okay, that’s a total lie, I love all of those things.
But even more than anything, I obsess over my Holiday cards. Last year was my first Christmas as a married lady so I chose to do a photo card with one of my wedding pictures. Just choosing what photo card to go with took two weeks.
This year, I’m ditching the photo card and going with a real card – you know, the kind that actually requires you to write a short note to the person you’re sending the card to. (Don’t get me started on my biggest Christmas card pet peeve, which is when you get a photo card that has absolutely nothing – not even “Merry Christmas! The Smiths” written on it. Yes, I want to see your adorable family, but put something personal in it for heavens sake!) I digress.
So, the hunt is on! And as my first love of paper is letterpress, here are some of my early favorites!
Love this chipboard and letterpress card from Wild Ink Press
This one from Flora and Fauna Press is perfect if you live in a DC rowhouse!
Location-centric cards are my faves – this one from Spring Olive is for my BFF in Chicago.
Beautiful calligraphy from Dancing Pen and Press
Cute little VW bug with a tree – by Twin Ravens Press
I’ve always loved this card by Maida Vale
And because holiday cards can’t all be serious:
Oh Snap! Card by The Pike Street Press
Just in case you want to send a really pretty, grumpy greeting card to someone,
Paper Source has you covered! Another funny one from Paper Source
Home Alone, anyone? This made me laugh out loud. by Sweet Dee Design
Because I can’t stop searching I’m sure I’ll be back with more letterpress cards – and because I’m not a millionaire and have to buy more than 6 of these things, I’ll be rounding up great non-letterpress cards, too!
